(Spirit Eugênia) – How does one feel when trying to bribe the truth for oneself? One should not try to build a personal world upon speculations, fictions or wishes of truth, but on what one can understand as true, fair and good.
(Benjamin Teixeira de Aguiar) – This is interesting, Eugênia. But it is known that the human mind is capable of creating impressive juggleries and cunning ruses to hide from itself that it is constructing myths, illusions and rationalizations, with which “protects” itself from a reality considered undesirable. What to do to defeat or overcome, even if partially, this inclination that we could say is almost automatic and universal to the human being?
(Spirit Eugênia) – Through the practice of self-reflection. It is not at all impossible to undress oneself out of intentions, desires and selfish ambitions, to see things as they really are, and then, make reasonable decisions.
(BTA) – You make a challenge that is complex, subjective and highly difficult to be faced and especially overcome, among the current living people of our planet, sound extremely simple and obvious.
(SE) – And indeed it is. The point is that not everyone is willing to invest in simplicity – in other words: truth. The truth costs little to the world, to the spirit, to humanity. But it costs a lot to ego, to its raving pride and its desire for supremacy over others, always ready to humiliate, show itself off and present itself predominant over others.
(BTA) – So, how to tame the ego and succeed in placing the Higher Self in the control center of the conscience?
(SE) – Well done: now you asked the right question. It is not easy. When one succeeds in taming the ego, all spiritual questions seem to be and indeed become really obvious: great sacrifices sound like walk in the park and spectacular devotions like lives of pleasure and happiness. But taming the ego takes time, effort and, mainly, resignation.
(BTA) – And then?
(SE) – One can only wait for time to mature human creatures, so that they reach the required level of awareness that makes clear to them that nothing is worth it, unless the spirit is considered as priority. Like Jesus said: “Your fool, what’s the point to own the world, if today your soul will be demanded from you?”
(BTA) – Is there anything one can do to catalyze this process and facilitate the climbing to the level of consciousness of the Higher Self, instead of getting stuck at the level of the ego?
(SE) – Yes: reliable readings in the area; attendance to lectures, conferences, seminars and scientific conferences on the subject; to seek advice from men and women of a notorious knowledge in the field, as well as to be dedicated to researching and experimenting techniques of prayer and meditation. In short, the discovery and alignment with the Higher Self happens through the continuous effort to improving oneself, to know oneself and to ascend. Which is never rapid or easy, and may also take long periods of time.
(BTA) – Anything else to say on the subject?
(SE) – No, satisfied.
