Watch and pray, so that you will not fall into temptation
JESUS granted to humanity, in this famous directive inserted in the Gospels, a solid guideline of conduct, from the matrixes of the thought and of the feeling. A disciplinary key, so to speak, which provides broader and more numerous chances for an individual to get right in their life choices, a safety valve that halts misunderstandings and deviations of the existential path, from the simplest ones and without major consequences to the ones that are most disastrous and with long-lasting effects and expressive proportions.
In order to foster a more profound and productive understanding of the christic alert, let us translate, in more modern concepts, the classic and timeless rule of Spirituality applied in the everyday life.
Watching:
It is indispensable to ponder, to reason, to think carefully and with criterion, to reflect with utmost serenity and exemption, moving oneself away from prejudices and assumptions of truth, before each situation, dilemma or crisis experienced. Without the due attention and discernment of people, of occurrences, of external information or of intimate impressions, it is impracticable the spirit of responsibility and consciousness expected of every adult and mentally referred as “sound” human being.
Praying:
It is essential, for the maximization of lucidity, that one invokes Divine Inspiration, systematically; that one appeals to the noblest feelings (i.e., altruistic) of one’s own heart; that one seeks meditative states of tranquility and trust in the Good and in God, practicing this emotional-intuitive state for as long as possible while awake.
Temptation:
It constitutes the set of errors that the creature can allow themselves to be dragged, when the thought wonders aimlessly, in the rough seas of the irrational operability of cultural and/or idiosyncratic conditionings, as well as of the psychic inductions of the moment, originated from incarnated or free from dense matter personalities, among other complex phenomena of collective mental intoxication.
