Forgiveness and survival
Without forgiveness life in society is impossible, as well as tranquility and balance within each creature.
The physical and mental health of individuals and communities (because they too suffer economically and culturally) depends intrinsically on forgetting offenses, tolerance toward differences, charity toward the flaws of others … and one’s own!
Because… without self-forgiveness and overcoming guilt, there is no freedom from fear, nor is there the eradication of infiltrations of evil, which, like sinister tentacles, strive to shackle, oppress and, as much as possible, destroy anyone who is unwittingly open to their malevolent insinuations, such as resentment, wounded pride and the feeling of personal victimization.
Defend yourself from abuse, do not agree with the deliberate or apparently involuntary vice and malice: these are mandatory attitudes for those who have intelligence and free will, perhaps even constituting in inescapable duties of conscience.
However, as far as it is within your reach, there should be no residue of egoic dispute or instinctive fury in your sense of responsibility, in the zeal with what was entrusted to you by the Divine Providence.
Jesus raised the whip and the Voice in the temple of Solomon, taken by the Holy Wrath of the Guardianship of the spiritual heritage of the whole earthly humanity. And, a few days later, He allowed Himself to be suspended, in absolute silence and docility, on the ominously and paradoxically sacred Cross, in the perfect balance of opposites that led Him to the incomparable glory of the Resurrection, no matter what genre of interpretation may be made of this Event, which basically translates, in a vivid and indelible way, the victory of Life over death, of Good over evil … and of the undisputed prevalence of the Spirit over matter! …
