Jesus said: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives” (John, 14:27).
On another occasion, the Christ Verb asserted: “I did not come to bring peace but the sword” (Matthew, 10:34).
In a third episode, the Supreme Master affirmed: “Whoever wants to follow me, take up their cross and follow me” (Matthew, 16:24).
The first sentence clarifies the second, diluting its paradox into a Divine Design to be executed, expressed in the third maxim.
Peace is in the sword of the combat for the good. And the sword represents the cross in the right position of the combative attitude: unsheathed from the belt of accommodation and cowardice.
May each sincere Christian devote themselves to the service that is pointed out to them by the standard of correct accomplishment of duty, by the principle of following their own conscience and not the convenience of the ego and social conventions.
And, thus, they will be meeting the Will of God for them, contributing for the establishment of the Kingdom of Heavens on Earth and, on the side, ensuring for themselves the choice of the most secure route to the profound and lasting happiness, starting at the current physical existence they enjoy.
