I was still immersed in a fragment of sleep, in the early hours of this Monday morning, enraptured by a vivid mental picture that seemed to me to have been dyed in oil, with impressionistic strokes, in which a carousel appeared with little children dressed in costumes that reminded me of the “belle époque”, with emphasis on the sweet little girl who, endowed with lovely hair adorned with ribbons, had a charmingly serene expression.
Then I heard the venerable Spiritual Guide Eugênia-Aspásia say, in a solemn tone, the words that she herself helped me reproduce in the following notes:
“Look at the little girl, barely out of babyhood, and reflect on the general drama of the human condition.
When you interact with a small domestic animal, you will be able to see that in it the spirit struggles to move away from instinctiveness toward feeling and reason.
When you come up against your intellectual, philosophical and moral dilemmas, you will notice that the suffering that consumes your soul indicates the blessed struggle to free yourself from the wiles of the ego, toward angelic transcendence.
In the child, however, there is the perfect synthesis of what we want to suggest to you.
Like the little girl in childhood, who plays lightly in the circle of learning that is typical of her age group, you also should not let yourself become too bitter in the face of the existential enigmas you face, no matter how spiritually responsible and psychologically mature this inner attitude of concern may seem to you.
Allow yourself to flow, according to the evolutionary currents of Life, with natural acceptance of your limitations and continuous openness to the new and the better, and you will see that peace will make its home in your heart.
It is not by chance that the Christ-Verb Jesus said that only those who resemble little children would enter the Kingdom of Heaven…”1
